Biography
I focus my practice on federal, state, and local tax matters, with an emphasis on estate planning, trust administration and family owned business tax matters. I advise individuals on ways to minimize their taxes (estate, gift, income and property) in order to maximize the value of assets passing to their heirs. I also guide surviving family members through the tax, trust, and administration processes that generally occur after a death. My practice also includes business planning, entity formation and management, and purchase, sale or termination of businesses as appropriate.
I have a Masters of Law in Taxation (LL.M. 2007, suma cum laude, USD School of Law) and received my law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law, cum laude, in 1989. I am a member of the State Bar of California and San Diego County Bar Association Tax, Estate Planning and Elder Law sections. I am also a proud retired member of the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps where I have served until 2014.
