John Cotter Wynne

I am trial lawyer with extensive experience defending employment cases and representing companies and individuals as plaintiffs and defendants in business, real estate, corporate, trust and intellectual property lawsuits. I have tried or arbitrated dozens of cases over the years and have argued appeals related to these areas.

Our firm’s employment practice group, which I co-chair, provides advice in structuring companies' policies and practices, assists with handling problem employment situations, represents companies in administrative proceedings and defends lawsuits.  I have done all of these things, but am primarily involved in defending lawsuits, including claims for discrimation, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation and wage/hour violations.  I have over 25 years of experience in this field and have been recognized for years as a top employment litigator in the San Diego area.

Also, I have handled many real estate, contract intellectual property (including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and unfair competition) and trust and estate cases through successful settlement or trial/arbitration. I have participated in four patent trials through jury verdict.

I am a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. I received an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell for Labor & Employment Law and Intellectual Property as published in American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel. I have also been recognized as a San Diego Super Lawyer since 2007 for my employment & labor practice. I was recognized as a San Diego Top Attorney by The Daily Transcript in 2010.
