Update from my Google review: So it’s been a few months since I wrote those reviews. I called John’s office nearly weekly trying to find out the status of finishing my case. Of course he had my case in storage and needed to get it out. He tried to use the excuse that he had never been in this positio...n before, asking to have the insurance company issue a new check, when he did exactly just that at the beginning of my case. He also mentioned that he wanted to close this case as soon as possible, saying that there was nothing in it for him, only for me to say that maybe that was the problem; he has no incentive to get me my money. Needless to say, I called this week to hear that my check is on his desk. What? I was out of the country for a few weeks and I come back and it’s done? Nope. Of course not, he actually just has the original check out of storage. It only took him nearly 4 months. He then stated that he would give the insurance company a call once a week and let me know. Really? At this rate I’ll be lucky to have my complete settlement in the next couple of years. So, I’m at my wits end with garbage! Sadly, John was referred to me by a friend of the family who’s a local Judge here in San Diego… Second Update: It’s been several months now and we are still in the same place we were a year ago! At one point he said it was complete and I should be receiving the remainder of my settlement in a week or two, only to find out the check he had to negotiate with had expired. I just continue to call him and be a thorn in his side and hope the squeaky wheel gets greased, but he doesn’t seem to care about doing what is right, which is never a good attribute when hiring to attorney…
