As you were already advised, best practice to seek termination in court ASAP. Hire a competent and experienced lawyer in Houston for that.

A person that has a B2 visa, but currently in USA with a J1 can ask for changing of Status from J1 to B2 ?

Since you are in J-1 status inside the USA you can ask to change your status to B-2. Can take 6-7 months or just 2-3. You'l see.

Not recommended at all, unless you absolutely have to and have a still valid visa in your passport.

I suspect you will have to depart & then seek to come back. Talk to that employer's attorney.
I lost my I-129S of L1B. Now I am in L1A and have the corresponding I-129S. Planning to file GC. Is it mandatory to have I-129S

Better have/find it. CIS is notorious for asking, during the interview, for whatever one happens not to have or be able to obtain.
