Biography
- Dan completed his undergraduate education at The University of San Diego where he graduated with honors from the College of Arts and Sciences. Dan went to law school with the goal of fighting for the underdogs, small businesses and consumers that have been wronged by big business, the government and multinational corporations. While in law school, Dan took a job offer to work for The Office of the San Diego City Attorney in the Consumer and Environmental Protection Department. While at the City Attorney, Dan successfully litigated cases against unlicensed contractors that took advantage of consumers, hazardous waste polluters, and brought class action consumer lawsuits against Best Buy and other multinational corporations, which all settled out of court to the benefit of the consumer.
- Dan then clerked at the business litigation firm Barker, Olmsted & Barnier, and after passing the bar exam, Dan was offered an associate attorney position at the firm, but decided to accept an offer at the larger downtown San Diego defense law firm, Horton, Oberrecht, Kirpatrick & Martha. Although insurance defense litigation was not Dan’s first choice of practice areas, he could not pass up the opportunity to work at a prestigious downtown firm, and obtain the experience to learn the ways of the large corporations that he knew he would later prosecute on behalf of his clients.
- Consequently, Dan left Horton and formed his own firm specializing in personal injury and consumer litigation cases on behalf of his clients. In doing so, Dan began this firm working under the well known and experienced attorney Spencer S. Busby who has over 30 years experience in personal injury and consumer litigation, and has litigated many high profile cases such as Van Damm v. David Westerfield, where Mr. Busby successfully litigated the civil case for the parents of Danielle Van Damm.
