Biography
Ms. Bessenecker's practice emphasizes the documentation and handling of real estate transactions, particularly real property purchase and sale, commercial leasing, easements and licenses. She represents buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, operators and managers of a wide variety of commercial properties, including shopping centers, office buildings, industrial buildings, charter schools, medical buildings, residential developments and airplane facilities.
During her first two years in practice, Ms. Bessenecker clerked for the Hon. Louisa S. Porter, Presiding Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court, Southern District of California. After her clerkship, she was an associate for nearly two years at Hecht, Solberg, Robinson & Goldberg LLP, and for over three years at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP. In 2003, Ms. Bessenecker took a sabbatical to sail around the Pacific on a 35-foot wood ketch for over two years, then returned to San Diego and joined Procopio. Ms. Bessenecker has been practicing real estate for over 25 years and has been with Procopio since 2005.
