Claudia Yvette Arzaga

Claudia Yvette Arzaga is a San Diego based attorney focusing her practice in family law matters including divorce, child custody, and domestic violence restraining orders. Over the years of solo practice, Ms. Arzaga has represented clients in a number of hearings, bench trials and jury trials (criminal cases).
Ms. Arzaga also has experience defending clients charged with criminal offenses such as drug trafficking, sexual assault, domestic violence, criminal conspiracies and DUIs. Ms. Arzaga has also been part of the defense team for high profile criminal cases in San Diego. She also has experience prosecuting and defending civil restraining orders. Ms. Arzaga has defended clients in both federal and state courts.
Ms. Arzaga started her legal career at Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP, where she focused on prosecuting multi-million-dollar corporations in antitrust, securities fraud and consumer nationwide class action lawsuits. Ms. Arzaga assisted the firm in successfully prosecuting several nationwide RICO class action cases involving the deceptive marketing and sale of annuities to senior citizens. Ms. Arzaga was also part of the RGRD litigation team prosecuting large companies for false advertising where the firm successfully obtained a $35 million-dollar settlement on behalf of consumers. Ms. Arzaga was a member of the trial team in a Sherman Act antitrust action, against some of the largest private equity firms in the world, where the court approved a settlement of over $500 million dollars for shareholders.
Ms. Arzaga graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology. While attending UCLA, Ms. Arzaga received the Latino Alumni Scholarship for academic and community commitment and was accepted, after a competitive selection process, as a Law Fellow in the UCLA Law School Fellowship Program. After her graduation, Ms. Arzaga moved to Texas to attend and receive her law degree from Texas Tech University, School of Law (TTUSOL). At TTUSOL, Ms. Arzaga was actively involved in number of law student organizations such as the Hispanic Law Student Association, Women’s Caucus, Texas Tech Alumni Magazine and Board of Barristers Moot Court and Negotiations competitions. Ms. Arzaga is a San Diego native, born and raised in National City, and graduated from Sweetwater High School. She is fluent in Spanish and conversant in Portuguese and Italian.
As a law student, Ms. Arzaga clerked with San Diego based immigration law firms and the San Diego Public Defender’s Office, as a certified legal intern.
Whenever possible Ms. Arzaga grabs her passport and travels outside of the US in search of tasty foods, great wines, and memories to last a lifetime. Ms. Arzaga has had pleasure of visiting a number of cities around the world in Mexico, Brazil, Guam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Netherlands, and France and she is determined to add more stamps to her passport book in the coming years.
