Carl Bosland is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrator whose full-time practice for more than 15 years has focused on workplace dispute resolution as a labor and employment arbitrator, hearing officer, mediator, and factfinder of private public, and federal sector disputes. Prior to his full-time arbitration practice, Carl served as a labor and employment attorney for the United States Postal Service as national Chief Counsel, Labor Relations, Chief Counsel, Employment Law, Chief Counsel, National Employment Litigation (Class Action) Unit, Chief Counsel, Safety, and Managing Counsel, Capital Metro Law Office. Mr. Bosland has served as lead counsel in the 2018 collective bargaining negotiations with a large national Postal Service union, and co-counsel in the 2016 interest arbitration hearing with the same national union. Mr. Bosland also worked for private sector law firms in New Jersey. Carl is the author of five legal books on labor arbitration practice, COVID-19 and Federal Sector Labor and Employment Law, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Mr. Bosland has served as an instructor on labor arbitration advocacy, COVID-19, and the FMLA at conferences sponsored by the National Academy of Arbitrators, the Labor and Employee Relations Asociation, the Chicago-Kent College of Law, and the Society of Federal Labor & Employee Relations Association.
Mr. Bosland's workplace dispute resolution practice is national in scope. He has arbitratored in-person cases as far North as Alaska, as far South as New Orleans, as far East as Delaware, and as far West as Guam. In addition to in-person services, Carl is also proficient at remote hearings.
Mr. Bosland hails from Bridegwater, New Jersey. During his legal and arbitration career, Carl has lived all over the country. Carl and his wife, Sharon, currenty reside in sunny San Diego, California. When he is not arbitrating, Carl enjoys all outdoor activities, especially downhill sking in the Winter and beach activities in the Summer, both in San Diego and at the family summer home on Block Island, Rhode Island.
