I had a very disappointing experience working with Don Kovacic]. I hired him to assist with relatively straightforward tax matters and a prenuptial agreement. Unfortunately, the process was anything but simple — he claimed to have spent over 40 hours on the work, ultimately billing me over $17,000. T...he bill was sent to me was late, and by the time I received it, there was no opportunity for transparency or discussion around the time spent. Even after that, the work was incomplete, and I had to go to another tax professional to finish the job. That person completed everything within 72 hours and billed me only $500. Based on my experience, I found this attorney’s billing practices excessive and opaque. The overall handling of my case felt unprofessional and, at times, questionable. I would not recommend his services

I hired Don Kovacic for legal and tax work. After 1 month, he submitted invoices far exceeding what was expected, authorized, or what reputable San Diego professionals would charge for similar services. He has a history of suing his own clients. I have initiated a formal fee dispute and reported the ...issue to the State Bar and CBA. Strongly do not recommend!!!
