Going through a nightmare of a divorce and complications with TRO's and arrests, my divorce has been crazy! Whenever I was anxious or scared of fearful of the unknown I was constantly reminded to hang in there. I spoke to Mark Shular several times and he was always hopeful. The paralegals Wendy and Donna are the best and all though they get busy at times, they were able to assist me when needed. My most favorite person to shout out though, is NOELLE SLATTERY! She is the toughest litigator I have ever seen and knows the ins and outs of all aspects of family law. She is a killer in the courtroom and you definitely want her on your side!!!!! I will say, that just when you think the attorneys don't know your case because they aren't on the phone with you 24/7, they are! They take the time detail the aspects and important parts of your case. Not all divorces are simple (mine definitely hasn't been). But if you want to absolute best and to feel like someone is on your side, then you better hire from the Law Offices of Kershek & Shular!!!!!! I am SOOOOOO glad I did!

In 2009, I got a referral for an attorney from a friend of mine. Little did I know that I would receive top notch treatment and support from such an honest person. From the beginning, Marc made me feel that my kids and I would be protected, and that he would be working in our best interest for the long term. Over the years I've encountered many court battles and have been represented by Nicole Slattery out of Marc's office. My kids and I look at Nicole as part of our "family" and continue to entrust her and Marc's office with all of our legal needs.

When I first met with Marc Shular, I discussed with him my high conflict divorce and custody case. I had not spent the adequate time with my young children and wanted strong representation to help gain better results so I could be a better father to my son and daughter. Marc gave a strong sense of confidence and “guaranteed,” that with him, I would receive a better outcome. I discussed the issue of finance and as a teacher I had very limited funding. He explained that with a $10,000 retainer, at the minimum, it would get me through pre-trial, trial, returning supervised visits to normalcy (unsupervised) and divorce finalized with the state mandated child custody payments. At first, I thought this was a high retainer but believed what was told to me would get me to be with my children and hence put my life savings to work. At first, Marc’s office appeared to be professional. However this faded quickly. After several months, ( still pre trial and still no outcome or adjustments to my court case), Marc’s office sent me an invoice for over $12,000. Most of the invoice went towards thousands of dollars for phone calls with opposing counsel, editing and reviewing and reviewing again a four page form of income and expense. Mind you, I do not own a home, I do not possses assets, I do not have any complications in debt and the form was filled out by me due to the little finances I had to work through for completion. Marc fraudulently charged me over $3,500 just to fill out this form and review it. He also charged me several thousand dollars for emails he communicated to me, which were mostly emails such as $80 emails saying “thank you”, $80 emails saying “Great,” $160 emails to ask when is best time to meet at the office, $180 emails giving update on straightforward information. It is important to note, that I was a self represented litigant prior to hiring Marc. I had learned the processes of the courtand made sure I was a low maintenance client because a great deal of knowledge was gained from this experience. Marc never prepared me for any trial. We never even got to trial and no custody changes were ever made on my behalf and he insisted on not only keeping the retainer but charging me more funds. When I tried to reach out to him several times through phone and email, and made sure the emails and voice mails were communicated respectfully, he chose to not respond. Three weeks ago, today is November 19th, 2023, I requested that Marc Shular be dismissed/fired and signed my substitute of attorney form two weeks ago. His office said they would file the form right away, then when following up, they said they already filed with the court, and just yesterday, I contacted the court and they stated that nothing was ever filed. Marc was dishonest about his work to be done in my case, was dishonest about his charges in invoice, and is dishonest about filing court documents. This is a serious concern and warning to anyone who wishes to hire this law firm. I am still in the same situation I was when hired Marc and he literally took advantage of my desperation to be with my children. He literally now, in time of writing this review, is deliberately not filing the necessary court documents for substitute attorney which has now been required by me for three weeks in row. Please take caution, please understand that this law firm will take advantage of your sincerity and will not put in the work ethic to defend you. They will lie and they will try to overcharge you for resources you never requested or agreed to.
