John Foster Whittemore

John Whittemore is an associate and litigation attorney at Blanchard, Krasner & French. He focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation, employment, family law, and trust and estate litigation. John previously served as a summer associate at BKF.

John received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 2015), where he was a member of the San Diego Law Review and Appellate Moot Court Executive Board. Upon graduation, John was elected to the Order of the Coif, an honor society for law graduates in the top 10 percent of their class. During law school, John served as a judicial extern for Justice Patricia D. Benke of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One, and was a fellow in the San Diego County Bar Association’s Diversity Fellowship Program. He also served as a Teaching Assistant in the Legal Writing & Research program and was a participant in the Small Claims Legal Clinic.

John is admitted to practice law in California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. He is a member of the American Bar Association, San Diego County Bar Association, La Jolla Bar Association, and the Tom Homann Law Association.

Prior to law school, John was a marketing associate for The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies (now Eastridge Workforce Solutions), where he gained valuable experience analyzing employment laws for the company’s 1099 compliance division. John earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in Law and Society from the University of California, San Diego, where he graduated cum laude. While at UCSD, he served as President of the international law fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta.

In his free time, John enjoys swimming, hiking, playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
