Maria E. Saling

Entrepreneur Mia Saling brings incomparable insight and direct, personal experience to her practice of business, intellectual property, and hospitality law. Her accomplishments are multi-dimensional and have enriched her advocacy for the companies she represents.

Hailing from California, Mia has been an industry insider of the culinary and hospitality community for 25 years. As a classically trained chef and co-founder of a successful event production company based in San Diego County, she understands the intricacies of operational, financial, and brand management. Mia was also the director of operations for a San Diego-based music production company; the district manager of billing operations for a medical management company in Orange County; and owned a consulting business that assisted medical offices with optimizing their practices and streamlining their billing. Her law practice emphasizes supporting small and medium-sized businesses of various disciplines in their business transactions, intellectual property, and litigation needs. Additionally, Mia has worked with wineries, breweries, distilleries, and restaurants, assisting them with their licensing, business, litigation, and trademark matters, and recently has worked with businesses in the cannabis industry.

Mia is a member of the Intellectual Property Law section of the State Bar of California, and is a new member nominee for the Les Dames d’ Escoffier International, San Diego chapter. She serves as an adjunct faculty member of Art Institute of California-San Diego, A College of Argosy University, instructing in law, hospitality, and culinary classes. She has sat as an adjunct professor of San Diego University for Integrative Studies. She is a regular volunteer for Collaboration Kitchen fundraisers, conducts seminars for hospitality professionals, and is also a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) through Voices For Children, which provides direct assistance to foster children in San Diego County.
