I advise property owners and public agencies on real property transactions (including acquisition, title review, sale and leasing, ownership structure, conditions covenants and restrictions, and management); land use entitlement and development; and compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). I regularly work on large real estate transactions and projects involving multiple parties and can efficiently facilitate and reconcile competing interests to meet clients’ practical and strategic goals, with legally defensible options and solutions.
Prior to starting my own practice I worked for Lounsbery Ferguson Altona & Peak, LLP a local boutique firm representing public entity, business, and real property clients on real estate transactions, land use and development, and advising on business entity formation, operation, and sale. While at LFAP, I was Deputy City Attorney for San Marcos and Lemon Grove advising on complex legal issues pertaining to entitlements and CEQA.
I obtained my Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2002, a Master of Arts in Legal Psychology in 2005 from Simon Fraser University, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta. Following law school and articling with the British Columbia Ministry of Attorney General, I moved to San Diego. In addition to my legal career, I am a Lecturer in the Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University where I teach business law.
Throughout the years I have served my community: As past president of the Carlsbad Rotary Club and director or member of a number of legal associations.

She is awesome
I reached out to another attorney in this company. Avneet called me instead, listened to me thoroughly and offered me her wisdom, all done in 18 minutes. I was very impressed. I had reached out to other attorneys but no luck and only excuses. Thank you Avneet, you are awesome.
