Not only am I a divorce lawyer and mediator; I am also a divorced lawyer and mediator. During my divorce five years ago I learned how to transform a difficult, conflict-filled marriage into a high-cooperation coparenting relationship. My ex-wife and I are both remarried; we both have blended moreover share joint custody of our two mutual children, Isaac, age 6 and Isaiah age 7.

In mediation I am able to draw on my personal experience to assist couples in developing long-range plans, learning to cooperate in the endeavor of coparenting and developing win – win solutions to issues of support, division of assets, handling of community debts and the sharing of parenting responsibilities. my approach to divorce is to ask the question, "how can I preserve important aspects of family life?" After all, what would you give for your family? Which of your assets or possessions would you trade for a high-quality relationship with your son or daughter?

A mediator cannot be effective unless he or she addresses not only the important tangible financial issues, but also critical intangibles, such as friends, family members and other important family considerations.
