Nicholas Barthel

Nicholas (Nick) Barthel grew up in the U.S. Marine Corps and has lived in San Diego for most of his life. Having grown up as the son of an attorney, Nick always had a passion to be an advocate for individuals in need. After graduating from Gonzaga University, Nick attended Whittier College School of Law.

While in law school, Nick specialized in family law and eventually earned a Certification in Children and Family law. Nick also studied abroad in China where his studies focused on international issues related to family law. Nick excelled in leadership positions while in law school. Nick was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Children and Family Advocacy which is a publication dedicated to addressing and resolving injustices in Family Law. Nicholas graduated Magna Cum Laude from law school.

After law school, Nick decided he wanted to hone his litigation skills. Nick worked the Kazerouni Law Group for more than three years where he gained experience in litigating class action lawsuits in federal district courts around the nation, in the Southern District of California and in California Superior court. Nick’s litigation experience also includes suing credit reporting agencies for inaccurate credit reporting and prosecuting companies for false advertising.

In January 2021, Nick joined the Military Law Center’s team. Having grown up in the Marine Corps, Nick has a strong desire to use his litigation experience to help servicemembers, veterans and their families with their legal needs in a variety of areas. Nick is a legal warrior who will fight for the legal rights of those he represents in a manner that is vigorous, compassionate, and affordable.

When Nick is not advocating for his clients he spends his time surfing and enjoying the outdoors.

Nick is admitted to practice law in the federal and state courts in the states of California and Nevada.
