Erica Bloom

I hired Erica Bloom to represent me in a custody matter, and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing. While some of the written paperwork she prepared was acceptable, I did not feel effectively represented in the courtroom. During hearings, there were multiple times when the judge ask...ed questions and she redirected them to me rather than advocating or responding on my behalf. As a client who hired legal representation, I expected my attorney to speak and advocate for my position in court. Communication throughout the case was also frustrating. There were several instances where my emails went unanswered, leaving me unsure about strategy and next steps in my case. At the same time, I was billed for nearly every email or minor interaction, which made communication feel both difficult and expensive. This case involved custody and one of the most stressful periods of my life, as I was fighting for my children and their well-being. During such a critical and emotional time, I expected my attorney to take the matter seriously and provide strong guidance and advocacy. Unfortunately, I often felt that the seriousness of the situation was not reflected in the level of representation I received. Considering the cost of representation approximately $400 per hour and around $20,000 in total fees. I expected a significantly higher level of advocacy and professionalism. During the last court hearing, she did not appear in person, despite my clear preference to attend a custody hearing in person rather than online. This added to my overall concern about the level of representation and commitment to my case. Overall, I did not feel that the level of representation matched the cost of the services. Legal representation is supposed to provide guidance, advocacy, and support during stressful situations, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. I ultimately felt that I was advocating for myself more than my attorney was advocating for me. For anyone seeking legal representation in a custody case, I would strongly encourage taking the time to find an attorney who is highly communicative, proactive, and fully prepared to advocate on your behalf in court. Based on my experience, I would not recommend her services.

Erica was AWESOME! She came highly recommended to me at a crucial time. She was able handle my hearing with less than 24 hours’ notice and was even a good luck charm as my case ended up being DISMISSED. She was able to ease my worries during the hearing as she was easy to talk to, as well as ...just making you feel comfortable in an uneasy setting with legal issues. I could tell she was on top of everything and was a true professional. In my short experience with Erica, I can and will with the upmost confidence recommend her to anyone needing a good lawyer who will look out for you. 5 STARS! Thank you again Erica!

I retained Erica Bloom for a restraining oder case, Paid a hefty deposit of $3500. Initially she appeared that she was actively working on my case. Then as soon as I started to ask questions regarding the status of case and if subpoenas had been filed in a timely manner. All email stopped, or I get a... one liner brush off. The final straw was she drafted a motion to submit to the court and sent it to me to review. It was unprofessional and inaccurate. It had appeared she had copied the complaint and pasted it in the case background portion of the motion. When I questioned her on it she quit. I mean my hearing is a month away. It was devastating! Kept my retainer, all of it. She put no effort in my case. Left me high and dry to pick up the pieces. I don't have the money to retain another lawyer at this point. And she wont give me the case files. The firm she works for is Sean Leslie. Contacted him, his response. Oh well, there is plenty of other attorneys out there. And Then, ........yes there is more, another associate attorney part of the same firm that I gave 5K retainer too. Also quit, said it was a conflict of interest to keep representing me. He also kept retainer. Anthony is his first name but I have a separate review for him. Stay as far away from Sean Leslie Law firm as you can get. They are all about the money and then they will quit leaving you hanging. Shame on them! I've given up because of them. Im a 100% disabled vet on a fixed income. And you know what Erica Bloom told me in an email. "I wish you all the luck" The audacity. Im trying to stay within the guidelines of this review site, but its almost impossible to do, due to the level of service this firm provided. I plead with site web masters to allow this to be posted. So this wont happen to some other unsuspecting individual who has limited funds and receives this type of service.

I was looking for an attorney to help me with my divorce. After calling almost everyone that came up on google, yelp and Avvo I was referred to Erica Bloom. I contacted her and we scheduled an appointment. She was very prompt and explained everything to me. We met at her Carlsbad office and after mee...ting her I knew that I wanted her to represent me. I was going through a bad financial hardship and she was able to work around my financials. He prices are reasonable and will work with you. She was very knowledgeable and took her time to answer my questions. Not only did I retained her that same day, we filled out all the documents and she filed them right away. By the next week I had the court date and mediation. I only had to attend mediation and one court date. Throughout the process Erica kept me updated and emailed me the documents with E-sign. She is very resourceful and made the experience so easy. I would definitely recommend Erica Bloom to represent you.
