Raised in Azusa and Glendora, graduating from Glendora High School.
I worked as a Legal Secretary in the Patent Department of a major oil company, and then as a Legal Secretary in the civil litigation unit of a prominent law firm in Pasadena.
I graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in May of 1994, and passed the California and Missouri Bar Exams in the summer of 1994. (Missouri was a possible destination after law school, but I changed my mind.) I clerked for a short time with a family law attorney, and then opted for solo practice in Glendora to balance work life and home life without sacrificing both to a long commute.
I have represented clients in family law matters in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Riverside, San Diego and Ventura Counties since 1994. I have also been appointed to represent many children in high conflict cases by Los Angeles and San Bernardino County Judges.
In 2008, I proposed specific legislation, and participated in the legislative process, to create statutory law [Family Code § 3111(d)] designed to protect the privacy rights of family law litigants who are required to participate in child custody evaluations. I have also served as a Judge Pro Tem in Los Angeles County.
Upon arrival of the COVID19 pandemic, I expanded my practice to the State of Texas and was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 2020. I now work remotely from my California and Texas locations using remote technology and find that this new “paradigm” has created an affordable option for litigants in both States. The remote technology eliminates the need for traditional overhead. My practice is now virtual. Clients have 24/7 access to me and their cases through remote technology, and they no longer incur the cost of my travel time to and from Court, or the built in costs of the traditional overhead expense required to maintain a physical office. In addition, Courts have installed equipment and software to facilitate remote appearances for most types of hearings.
Many cases are well served by this new paradigm. However, there may some high conflict cases that would require a more traditional arrangement. The only way to know what would work best for you is to call me. We will talk about your situation, your needs and how best to meet those needs.

My case was awful. My first lawyer didn't do anything. Deborah Manning and her staff helped me stay sane and we got thru it. Good team.

Ms. Manning was warm and friendly. She helped me understand the nuances of child custody, and got me a good support order. She shut down the other lawyer pretty good. And she's pretty.
