Messed Up AND POOR

Mr. Baker was my attorney. It was a foreclosure case. I paid him a "non-refundable" $3,000.00 retainer. He then demanded a "non-refundable" $1,000.00 every month thereafter. There was no work done on the file. I requested to see my file several times and he never allowed me to see my file. He w...ould never discuss the case with me. He also missed critical court hearings.

Horrible

I paid Mr. Baker $10,000 to stop my forecosure. Nothing was done and I was foreclosed. He refused to let me see my file. He refused to reuturn the retainer, none of which was earned.

Misrepresentation

I hired Mr. Baker to defend my foreclosure. I received advertiwsements that his firm, Baker & Camiling, defended foreclosures. Mr. Baker wanted a $3,000.00 nonrefundable retainer, and $1,000.00 a month thereafter until the case was resolved. No work was done. Mr. Baker would ot give me a copy of ...my file nor would he give me updates. I was foreclosed on and all he said was that it was my fault. I am mad.

Disappointed

Mr. Baker handled my foreclosure defense case. I was stunned that he requesed a large non-refundable retainer, plus further monthy payments, yet I complied because I was in distress and I turned to someone who was supposed to have the public's trust. It turned out that I only had one meeting with Mr.... Baker where he made all sorts of promises to save my home and that I had nothing to worry about. I would ask for status updates, but he would not take my calls. I asked to see my file, but his office would not make it available for me to see, and Mr. baker was never at the office. I requested to get my money back, but got nothing. I am disappointed.

Disaster

Mr. Baker represented me in a foreclosure case. He did not return phone calls or respond to emails. He was suspended by the state bar for defrauding clients. He insisted on a $3,000.00 nonrefundable retainer, but did no work. Neither he nor his staff would give me a copy of my file.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
