About me

Betty J. Boyd, Founder and Lead Attorney of the Law Office of Betty J. Boyd (located in Southern California), has nearly a decade of professional legal experience.  She graduated as the Valedictorian of her law school class, with Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence (highest grade), in three of her law courses.  Subsequently, she furthered her education, by completing the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) Deposition and Trial Advocacy courses as well as several other courses from various bar associations, such as the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) and the American Bar Association (ABA), Business Section.

Betty centralizes her practice on federal tax controversy (e.g., IRS audits/appeals and litigation), federal tax relief (e.g., installment plan agreements and offers in compromise), and Californian business litigation (e.g., contract and employment law disputes).  Betty earned an M.A. degree in Industrial/Organizational (IO) Psychology, with a best-thesis nomination, as well as a Tax LL.M. degree, with CALI Excellence awards (highest grade), in two of her tax courses.  Betty received positive feedback on her externship work at the Chapman University, Fowler School of Law, Tax Law Clinic and the IRS Office of Chief Counsel.

Betty’s favorite quote from one of her Tax LL.M.’s law cases was that from Judge Learned Hand:

“Anyone may arrange his affairs so that his taxes shall be as low as

possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which best pays the

treasury. There is not even a patriotic duty to increase one's taxes.”

With individual, personal attention to each of her clients, Betty seeks to achieve the best possible results in all of her cases.
