When my N-400 (application for U.S. citizenship) initially returned a denial decision, my family and I were devastated. A few friends of mine recommended Yi Kang (Jeff), and one of them connected the two of us. After telling him our story and hearing what he had to say, my family hired him to represent me. Throughout the process, Jeff was incredibly helpful. Having read through the decision notification, he immediately developed a strategy to build the best case possible for me, telling us what information and materials we needed and how we should acquire everything for the N-336 (Request for a Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization). He wrote the legal brief, reviewed our evidence, and submitted the appeal. What I appreciated most about Jeff was his honesty. Whenever we asked him for his opinion on materials for the N-336, he would tell us whether the evidence was sufficient or not. He told us how he felt about our chances throughout, depending on the progress we made. Shortly after we submitted the N-336, he told us he was not worried about our case at all. It was a stressful period for me and my family, but once he said those words, I was able to relax. Jeff told us that we probably would not hear back for 1-3 months, so imagine our surprise when we got a hearing notification not even 3 weeks after we submitted. My family and I took this to mean that the evidence was so strong that USCIS wanted to close the case as soon as possible. When I shared this sentiment with Jeff, he agreed, again saying that he was very confident in our case. In the days leading up to the hearing, he informed me what it would entail, what I needed to bring, and what I needed to prepare for. On the day of the hearing, I was nervous, but Jeff was calm and assured me that our prospects were very promising, saying that he would be shocked if I was to be denied again. The hearing went very well. Thanks to Jeff's coaching and preparation, I was able to answer the questions the agent had for me with ease. At the end, the agent told us that he accepted our evidence and that an official decision would be made soon. Days later, I was informed that our appeal was successful. As I write this, I am looking forward to my naturalization oath ceremony in the coming weeks. Hiring Jeff as my counsel is one of the best decisions I ever made. Great Lawyer. Very well versed in his field. I had a case for my F1 status reinstatement and he was the only lawyer who was positive regarding my case and also affordable.
