Mary Bernal

I was recommended to Mary for my son. My son is a good kid who made a bad choice and got in trouble (misdemeanors). Mary and her assistant (Maricela) were fantastic and explained everything to us step-by-step. Mary was trying to get him into a fairly new program called deferred entry of judement, eve...n though Mary was told that my son did not qualify for it. Mary's office fought and even called supervisors at the district attorneys to get my son this program. Their hard work paid off, they dropped 1 charge and after completing one 6hr. class the remaining charge would be dismissed. Words can not express how greatful our family is to them. Thank you

Our son’s drug problems threw us into the frying pan of a complicated legal system we knew nothing about. Feeling like fish out of water, we found the task of finding a competent and caring attorney to handle his impending charges to be extremely difficult. After hiring one criminal defense attorne...y and paying him thousands of dollars, we felt ignored and stiffed. In our guts we knew we had hired the wrong attorney. At court, the attorney was MIA on two of three dates and instead sent a frazzled staff member. Eventually he was fired due to incompetence. In our search for another attorney, we interviewed four potential candidates. The decision was easy after speaking with Mary Bernal, and she was hired within a day of our interview. We chose Mary because she seemed to truly care about the outcome of our son’s case and was willing to represent him aggressively. She was upfront about her fees, what our son was facing in the criminal justice system, what could happen, and what she would do to avert the worst possible outcomes. Mary attended all but one court appearance, but sent a competent substitute in her place. In the end, Mary represented our son like a bulldog protecting its owner. She fought to get his charges reduced; she inspired the court to see him as the bright and remorseful young man he is who made unfortunate choices in his youth. Had we ignored our gut, it’s not inconceivable that our son could be in prison today. Luckily this is not the case. Mary gave us our son back and helped pave the path that he needed to stay on the sober track and out of the legal system.

I honestly dont know what I would have done without Mary. I had a very difficult case on my hands and would have probably stuck with a felony on my record but had dropped to a "disturbing the peace" with a small fine. Mary is a very loving & caring attorney. Anything I needed or had questions for she... was very responsive & helpful. She kept me at ease when times got hard. I just currently finished a year and half of my probabtion period and was able to get my record expunged all with the help of Mary Bernal I have my life back and Im able to pursue my career in child development and finally find a job! I would recommend Mary to anyone because she actually cares what happens to you and isnt all about the money. Money was never an issue I knew what I was dealing with before going to Mary. I know Mary is a sincere & understanding person & I want to thank her a million times for helping me out and getting me on the right path.

I hired Ms. Bernal to help my son with felony charges. She was very helpful and did a lot of hand holding for our family. She and the other attorney in her office did a very good job on my sons case. I am very glad I hired her because she was caring and honest. Did not see that she was "money hungry"... at all. She was up front with what she charged for the case before trial and for trial. She promised she would try to get the best for my son before trial and she did. I would recommend her and her office to anyone. My son is back home and I am so thankful for her and her staff.

All I can say is I am so glad we found Mary. My son was arrested and falsely accused by a jealous exgirlfriend. We were a mess.. Went to see a few lawyers and they made us feel like all they wanted was money as we were walking to our car, I saw Marys number gave her a call. From the moment I talked t...o her, I felt at peace. She was so nice and helpful. Once we met with her, we knew she was the lawyer for us. She fought for my son, the DA did not file charges. Now Mary is helping us remove the arrest from my sons record. I am so Thankful we found Mary and highly recommend her to everyone.
