About me

Attorney James Eugene Nobles began his journey into the world of law in 2001. His diverse background gave him a unique edge and ability to understand various legal situations and counsel clients on a variety of different topics. The experienced he gained from working in the corporate world also help to set him and his firm apart from other lawyers. Since Mr. Nobles opened his own practice clients have been impressed with his legal acumen and attention his firm pays to their legal matters.

Mr. Nobles graduated from the University Of West Los Angeles School Of Law in 2005. While at UWLA he quickly rose to the top of his class in Contract Law, Estate and Gift Taxation and Real Property Law. He has received Witkin Awards for excellence and other academic acknowledgments. Mr. Nobles became interim president of the Black Law Students Association; a member of UWLA’s Law Review and selected to argue before the California Court of Appeal.

Prior to law school Mr. Nobles obtained diplomas in broadcasting, opticianary, vision sciences, contact lens fitting and received an associate’s degree in liberal arts. He had a stent of 3 years as a broadcaster and journalist with a local Los Angeles radio station and local newspaper. Subsequent to his journalistic exploits and after a few years spent fundraising for peace officer groups, Mr. Nobles worked in the world of optometry, managing offices in Marina Del Rey and West Hollywood. He ultimately became the chief ophthalmic technician at American Eye Institute in Beverly Hills. There Mr. Nobles worked with world renowned eye surgeons, assisted in research and development of ophthalmic drugs and worked with high profile celebrities and public officials. While at American Eye, Mr. Nobles attended four years of law school culminating in a Jurist Doctor degree in 2005.

After graduating from law school and taking the California Bar Exam Mr. Nobles interned at the civil litigation firm of Foster & Bhola. The firm focused on areas of business litigation, personal injury, family law, medical malpractice and wrongful death. After passing the bar in 2006 Mr. Nobles became assistant general counsel to Irwin Naturals Corporation; a large dietary supplement formulator, manufacturer and marketer. There, Mr. Nobles worked on numerous legal matters including business litigation, intellectual property litigation, trade secrets, Government regulatory matters, employment law, internet law and the review, drafting and negotiations of contracts involving sales, distribution, licensing, media and talent.

Mr. Nobles later moved into the entertainment arena becoming in-house counsel for Jaded Entertainment, a hip-hop record label. There he handled all aspects of dealmaking between the label, artists, music producers, songwriters, music video producers and directors and just about any entity doing business with the label. Mr. Nobles gained a keen understanding of the music publishing business, music copyright issues, music distribution and music licensing.

After more than three years at Irwin Naturals and Jaded Entertainment Mr. Nobles resigned from those posts and started The Law Offices of James E. Nobles. The practice has combined all of the experienced gained in the various fields of law practiced by Mr. Nobles and placed them under the umbrella of one law firm. The firm delivers services in the area of entertainment, business, personal injury and employment law. This diverse experience has allowed Mr. Nobles to handle high profile clients and succeed against well established companies and law firms in each practice area. The firm has taken cases other law firms would not and has brought success to those clients. The law firm’s motto is “Your Law Firm for Results”, one we intend to build on forever.
