I am a bankruptcy attorney who has been practicing for more than 25 years. I started Douglas Law Practice to help individuals get their financial lives back on track. My greatest fulfillment is seeing clients smile again after their bankruptcy discharge. I believe everyone deserves another shot so I use my knowledge, experience, and compassion to help them.
There are two things that make Douglas Law Practice different from other bankruptcy firms. First, I love my clients. They are my number one priority and I care for them like family. Second, I really like what I do.

She responded to me quickly and gave me precise and helpful information, even though she doesn’t take cases like mine. Was so grateful she responded even though she didn’t expect to be hired. Truly a wonderful and smart human!

Suzette is the best! She is one of the few attorney's who answers her phone and actually talk to you personally. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout the bankruptcy process. She "personally" made time in her busy schedule the day before the hearing to call and make sure I was oka...

While Ms. Douglas has a very engaging and gregarious personality, but that doesn’t help me in my court case. She is not concerned with following up on her cases, meeting deadlines, or reading information about your case sent via email. I’ve been trying to file since Jan 2018, and while we did have to...
Hello Rachael, I read your review and I am both grieved and sorry that I did not meet your deadlines. I not only enjoy practicing bankruptcy but I love my clients. Most importantly, I love helping people but sometimes get backed up in my work. In this situation, I was also under the weather off and on for a couple of months. I do not want to comment on the details of your case as I am still your attorney and I am prohibited from violating the attorney-client relationship in any way. Yes, my paralegal does a lot of the drafting which is the job of a paralegal however she is under my supervision. I personally meet with clients, review and approve every court filed document, personally appear at the meeting of creditors and all hearings, and try to personally answer the phone. As I explained to you in prior conversations, your case is extremely complicated and requires more detailed work. Notwithstanding, you are not pleased with how I have handled things and I take full responsibility for that. It is however my intention to bring your case to a successful conclusion. I truly appreciate your business and again apologize for falling short in meeting your needs. Have a wonderful day. Sincerely, Suzette

Suzette was great. She walked us through everything & indicated what we could expect at the hearing. It made a trying time more tolerable. In highly recommend her. She communicated back to all questions in a timely manner, even if she was busy. I felt like my concerns were a priority to her.
"I endorse this lawyer. I worked with Ms. Douglas while volunteering at a community legal aid clinic. She has a vast knowledge of bankruptcy law and shows great care for her clients needs."
"Suzette Douglas is a caring and knowledgable attorney. I have known her for many years and she cares deeply for her clients. Ms. Douglas is easy to talk to and will give you an honest appraisal of your situation. Give her a call!"
"I met Suzette when we were both volunteering at the immigration help desk. In getting to know one another, we learned that we both practice bankruptcy and from there developed a great professional relationship. We attend CLEs together and share any new bankruptcy information that we learn. We also cover each other's 341s when needed. Suzette is a meticulous attorney who provides great customer service and a great attorney to have in your corner."
