Kimberly E. S. Sargent

Attorney Kimberly Sargent has spent the last 20 years defending the rights of people charged with crimes in California. As a Deputy Public Defender, she tried misdemeanor and felony cases, and specialized in demanding treatment for her clients through Drug Court, Veteran’s Treatment Court, and Mental Health Courts. As a private defense attorney at the Kavinoky Law Firm, she now specializes in helping clients to fight their cases in court and with the DMV. She believes that each client should be heard and treated as an individual.

Kimberly received her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law where she graduated with Honors. She was a presenter at the National Association of Drug Court Professionals Annual Conferences in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018. She trained attorneys in how to defend clients in collaborative courts and how to expand these programs for the benefit of clients and society. She has also presented to the Orange County Bar Association on programs for justice-involved Veterans.
