Jack Goodchild

Senior Partner Jack Goodchild has over 30 years of experience fighting on behalf of injured and disabled people. Jack Goodchild is recognized as a prominent and passionate attorney, and he has been continually awarded the distinguished Martindale Hubbel AV Rating, in recognition of “very high to preeminent legal ability.”

Mr. Goodchild is a Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. In addition to helping injured workers, Mr. Goodchild also handles personal injury and social security disability cases. Jack Goodchild considers himself to be a “David” in the fight against the “Goliath” insurance companies. His life’s dedication is to helping working class people whose lives have been turned upside down by an injury or disability. In the courtroom, Mr. Goodchild is a force to be reckoned with. Aided by his sharp intellect, and extensive knowledge of the law, Mr. Goodchild is ready to win when he goes to trial. While his clients admire his intense energy in the courtroom, they also appreciate his compassionate and friendly attitude in the office.

Jack Goodchild was born in Antwerp, Belgium, and moved to the United States when he was only three months old. Both of his parents were Holocaust survivors and working class people, who instilled in their son the importance of helping the downtrodden. Mr. Goodchild took this basic principle to heart, and has since helped thousands of injured and disabled people to get the medical treatment, compensation, and benefits, that they so desperately need.

Jack Goodchild received a B.A. degree in English (cum laude) from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, in 1971. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from the State University of New York, Buffalo, in 1974. Mr. Goodchild was admitted to the California State Bar, in 1975, the U.S. Central District Court of California, in 1976, and the U.S. Supreme Court, in 1981. In that same year, Jack Goodchild became a partner in the law firm Rand and Goodchild, PLC, and he was certified as a Workers’ Compensation Specialist. In 1989, Mr. Goodchild founded his own law firm, which is today known as the Law Offices of Goodchild and Duffy, PLC. In addition to his role as an attorney, Jack Goodchild has worked since 1984 as a Judge Pro Tem for the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. He has also served as an advisor to the California Legislature.

Jack Goodchild is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, California Applicants’ Attorneys Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Consumer Attorneys of California Association. He also currently serves on the Los Angeles Valley Applicants Attorneys Association board as President and is Chair of the Executive Committee of the California Lawyers Association Workers’ Compensation Section.

Besides being a lawyer, Jack Goodchild is a family man dedicated to his wife, two children, and dog. His favorite pastimes are skiing and bicycling.
