The current legal system is broken. The idea that someone is innocent until proven guilty was one of the crucial ideas of the Magna Carta. It continued through English common law in early colonial America and although not directly stated in the Consitution, the Supreme Court has stated that it implies this right. However, the District Attorney, City Attorney, and Los Angeles courts seem to have forgotten this. They assume your guilt based on the police officer's statements and investigation alone without ever considering you. As with everything, there are two sides to the story and to make such a decision without even hearing the other side is wrong.​

Mr. Pitman worked with the District Attorney's Office for three years while in law school. This afforded him the opportunity to see how DAs worked and thought. It showed him what they look for and what they ignore. It also showed him the holes in their analysis and thought. Armed with that information he entered the law field and began working under some of the best criminal defense attorneys in Los Angeles. From them, he learned how to attack a prosecutor's case and get the best possible outcome for his clients.

He has represented clients in numerous cases where he has gotten charges either dropped or reduced and he has gotten people released from prison. He wants to continue this work and give a voice to those that the system continues to ignore.
