I think I should share my horrific experience with Yelpers. Even though it was a while ago, it does not matter. Mr. Dmitry Gurovich was hired by me to represent me in court. He told me at that time that he had 6 yrs experience even though he had less than 3, I later found out. He insisted on coll...ecting $5000 UP FRONT, as a retainer. I agreed, I thought I 'll be getting good representation. He was reassuring, said he handled cases like mine, told me my case was easy. This particular lawyer was very incompetent in my opinion, put my life in danger, and almost got me some jail time. Thank God, I found a great attorney, although I had almost no time to do so. I explained to Mr. Gurovich, that I had a good job as a manager in the company, I had family to support, and when he decided to represent me, he said he knows what he's doing , that my case was not difficult and up his alley. Even mentioned that he knows or was familiar with the judge. He went to court only ONCE, and failed miserably. I was facing with some jail time and also had only 1 week to look for another attorney. I was lucky enough that someone from my relatives recommended one and that guy charged only $1500 and got me off. I asked to return some money back, not successfully I may add. That was some years ago. Then I found out he discussed my case with some other people, at the shop I was repairing my car at, I got shocked. He broke our confidentiality agreement. I could have filed with BAR Associated and have him disbarred. All I asked to return $4500 of my money. $500 was good enough for doing absolutely nothing Just for showing up one day for court with me. I would not recommend hiring this man, you are better off with somebody else for sure. ps. I tried to contact him again , on Facebook, he did not reply, he blocked me from sending messages. I emailed him last week. He promised to look into it and pull my file within few days. I offered to resolve this issue once and for all. So far I was not reimbursed. I leave it up to him, it's not too late yet. He knows how to get in touch with me. If he decides to make this right , I'll be more than happy to write and update or take this off.

I don't usually write reviews online for anything other than food and products I buy on Amazon. However, I am happy to take the time to leave this review for Gurovich, Berk & Associates, namely Dmitry Gurovich. We hired Dmitry to help with a family members' criminal case being seen in the Van Nuy...s Courthouse. I am certain that if we had not enlisted him to help with our case, our family member would be being hauled off to prison right now for many years. He worked his magic and thankfully, this is not the case. What a blessing! Throughout the entire process, he kept us informed and educated as to what was going on and what was going to happen next. We were never in the dark, which was very comforting for myself and the rest of the family. It was obvious he was a master of his craft and knew exactly how to do his job in the courtroom and for us as his clients. I could not help but compare him to other lawyers I saw over the many days we were visiting the courthouse. Without a doubt, I would hire him again in the future. I also would not hesitate to recommend/refer him to anyone I know needing the help of a criminal defense attorney.
