Michael Dennis Collins

My girlfriend had surgery. She had a private insurance company that approved the surgery, out of network. The Dr and everyone involved agreed to take the lower out of network reimbursement. Months post op, still recovering from a serious surgery, we received a check from the insurance company for her... premiums paid totaling about $1,200. With a letter stating they were retroactively cancelling her insurance leaving us owing over $400,000!!!!! They said it was because she wasn't specific when she wrote "lower back pain" as a pre existing condition. We were afraid for our credit, our future, but most of all her health! Micheal Collins heard our position and agreed with us.... Long story short, he won. He was persistent. He was stubborn. He fought this large insurance company, and their team of lawyers without every compromising my girlfriends dignity or trust. He had compassion for us that we thought we would only find from close friends and family. I hope neither of us have to go through any of this again, but it's nice to know that there's people like Michael around to help fight the bullies of the world should we need him!
