Jonathan James Kissel

I used Jonathan for a 2005 case. I had to pay his fee and put money in a trust to ensure victims were compensated if I lost. I fought this thing for three years, and one day he calls me to say it was over, it was done and going away. We go to court, I hear all of this legal speak, I hear the judge sa...y charges dropped, case dismissed and expunged, etc. The money I put in the trust was returned and I thought all was well. In September of 2024 I run an FBI background report. To say what I found was stunning is an understatement. On the FBI report there is this very case, with all charges dropped, except for three, serious charges, which he pleaded to without my knowledge or approval to get the rest dismissed. I fought this for three years and thought I was vindicated. Now I'm going back to the court to try and get this cleaned up and resolved once and for all.

How many people can say that they got to sit at Comedy Central Comedy Club to be an audience member in what other people paid to see AS A FORM OF COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR CRIMINAL CHARGES??? Umm… I really feel like I am the only one who can confidently say that is what happened to me about a decade a...go when I hired Jonathan Kissel to represent me whereas before he opened his mouth, the judge was about to throw me in JAIL!! I was being wrongfully accused and charged with two counts of misdemeanor spousal abuse - so that my husband could avoid paying me child support, spousal support, etc and gain monetarily from me. Not only did Jonathan take the time to listen to all the intricacies of my sick husband's plan and mental... health issues, he he also made me no promises because of the severity of a DV charge. He walked into the court room confident and knew everyone there! Prior to my sentencing date he spoke with the city attorney and provided her with evidence of my husband's history of abuse against me and not only did he get my charge reduced - he got my case dismissed!! Had it not been for Jonathan Kissel my criminal case would never have been dismissed. His 35+ years of being an attorney in the SFV and knowing everyone will help you. And, he's an absolute pleasure to work with. I owe him my life!

Johnathan Kissel and Peter Korne had got me off of two other criminal cases. 2009 I was charged with home invasion attempted murder. The charges carries a life sentence. Peter had gotten me an amazing deal and while yes I had to go to prison I only did two years, Peter and Jonathan genuinely felt bad... as due to circumstances a better deal wasn't struck however considering most people who get these charges have to take average deals of 10 years plus I'd say they got me a terrific deal. Anyway I've moved on from being an idiot and learned from my mistakes. They generally don't respond if nothing in your case is going on. Only when things are going on. If you don't hear from them that's always a good sign.
