Why family law is so important to me:
I have been through a divorce, so I can relate to many of the things you are feeling. Life goes on after divorce. As hard as this may be right now, positive things will happen. Don't close your heart and mind to a new beginning. You will get through this. We have a supportive team so you don't have to go through this feeling alone.
I knew very early in life that I wanted to be a lawyer. I began my career handling general civil litigation cases involving business and money disputes. I started handling adoptions and watched a mentor and friend lending a more personal touch to her divorce clients. It was then that I realized that I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of couples and families going through the emotionally wrenching process of divorce. I have never looked back
In 1999, I was certified by the State Bar of California as a Specialist in Family Law, and in 2003, I founded Zonder Family Law.
I am committed to helping my clients settle their cases expeditiously. I don't want them to waste time and money. Open communication and mutual respect are the guiding touchstones of my work – I listen carefully in order to craft solutions to meet each client’s needs. I know I have done my job well when clients let me know that I fully understood their concerns and helped them moved on with their lives. As an example, one client thanked me for “being present” for him during our full team Collaborative Divorce meeting. Yesterday, a client stopped by to drop off a Thanksgiving basket filled with cookies and baked goodies and to give me a hug just to say "thank you" for being so kind and giving me such personal attention. This kind of feedback brings driving purpose to my work every day. Community giving:Giving back to the community is a cornerstone of my personal life and practice. I am particularly proud to be a volunteer attorney lecturer/educator at the nationally acclaimed “Second Saturday Divorce Workshops” created by the Women’s Institute for Financial Education (), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial education for women.
Because I have seen Second Saturday benefit thousands of individuals and their families, I am especially excited to have founded my own LA Chapter of “Second Saturday.”
This workshop will help couples work together and apart in ending their marriages in a much less expensive and traumatic way. Inspired by the original, LA “Second Saturday Divorce, Mediation and Collaborative Workshop” features education and information on the legal, financial and emotional aspects of the process, with a focus on Collaborative Divorce.
A portion of all profits from Second Saturday go directly to .
I also serve on the Education Committee for the statewide group, CP Cal, and the (former) Chair of the Certified Family Law Specialists. I am a volunteer Settlement Conference Attorney/Mediator at the local courts in Ventura, Los Angeles, Van Nuys and North San Diego County

As much as I appreciated Lisa's expert legal insights and her ability to communicate those well, her office operations and paralegal support was lacking in my case. I had numerous paralegals, which caused confusion and delays. Then Lisa was suddenly unavailable (for personal reasons, I think, which c...

I approached the Zonder Law Firm to help assist me with a custody and child support issue. I decided to go with them due to their success rate with settling these delicate matters outside of court in a respectful, and amicable way. Lisa and her team did an EXCELLENT job with my collaborative divorce. No surprises, everything was straightforward and honest. Anytime I had a question she or a staff member responded in 24 hours or less. San Diego
"I first met Lisa through Collaborative Law Practice and Mediation groups. I have been honored to be a presenter on collaborative topics to her Collaborative Practice Group. She is heavily involved in consensual and informed out of court resolutions for couples and families in the transition of divorce. She is very empathetic and knowledgeable in this field. And with confidence, I endorse this lawyer."
"Lisa is one of the most receptive lawyers you will ever meet. She really listens to your concerns and works with you to address them all. She is kind and caring, and a great asset to the family law community."
"This attorney works very hard for the clients and keeps up with the law by attending legal seminars to assist them in this regard. I endorse this attorney."
"Lisa skillfully uses mediation for divorces that helps avoid some of the high drama and keeps the legal fees associated with divorce down."
"I endorse this lawyer. Lisa has a rare combination of intellect and empathy. She efficiently handles the nuts and bolts of family law. However, she also also understands and utilizes its nuances and intricacies. She knows the court system inside and out. She knows how to present or mediate a case. Most importantly, people respect and like her. Clients will find her to be a good listener and a zealous advocate."
"Your resume speaks for itself and I consider you a valuable member of the attorney community. I would recommend you to anyone and everyone who needs your services. I whole heartedly endorse this lawyer!"
