Daniel Alexander Friedlander

I represent clients in civil litigation before state and federal courts. I also represents clients in transactional, administrative, and regulatory matters. Most of my clients are land owners, developers, and builders, but I also represent commecrcial landlords and tenants in unlawful detainer litigation and proceedings. In addition, becuase of my experience with complex real propertry and business issues, I represent clients in family law matters that often involve complicated property division issues.

As former general land use counsel to one of California’s largest land developers and as land use and environmental counsel to many of the nation’s top home builders, I assist clients in navigating the complex maze of land use and environmental laws and regulations under the most challenging circumstances.

My practice also includes advising clients on the applicability of state and federal prevailing wage laws to construction and improvement projects. I have substantial experience representing both lenders and borrowers in matters involving California’s elusive usury laws. I also represent both landlords and tenants of large commercial and industrial developments in unlawful detainer proceedings and in complex landlord-tenant litigation.

In addition to my legal experience, I have a degree in City and Regional Planning and I have practiced as a land use planner and environmental consultant. I am also a certified member of the American Planning Association’s (APA) American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).

I currently serve as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Oracle Mutual Fund and am the developer of several legal software applications for the iPhone and iPad.
