Joanna Abel Hutchins

Joanna A. Hutchins is a Partner at Johnson Moore Trial Lawyers in Thousand Oaks, California.  She earned her Juris Doctorate cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology cum laude from University of California, Irvine. Ms. Hutchins has dedicated her career to representing elderly and dependent victims who have been abused or neglected by their care providers - including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, doctors, and other care providers. These victims are particularly vulnerable due to their physical & mental disabilities, and often do not have anyone to advocate for better care. She and her team seek to hold those in power accountable and to advocate for better conditions for residents and patients in facilities all over California.

Ms. Hutchins was a member of the Dispute Resolution Law Journal and the Moot Court Board at Pepperdine University School of Law.  During her time at Pepperdine, she was named a Faculty Scholar, earned four CALI Awards, and was awarded the title of Best Petitioner Brief at the Vincent S. Dalsimer Moot Court Competition in 2014.  Ms. Hutchins is currently a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and the American Bar Association.
