Linda Kocalis Corwin

Flat out, until my experience with Linda Corwin all of my experiences with lawyers were very negative. She treated me nicely and fairly. However she didn't hesitate to encourage me to change my goal because she felt that it would cost too much to achieve it. Yet, when I persisted she did as I reques...ted and for much less money that I was wiling to spend. Actually I interviewed several lawyers for my project which consisted of forming a partnership out of several existing partnerships. Until the clock started ticking time wise the other attorneys just wanted to give me the boot. Linda Corwin actually made some good suggestions in the initial meeting and surprised me by saying that she enjoyed meeting me and she seemed like she meant it. All in all, I highly recommend Linda Corwin.

We are a group of personal injury attorneys who needed a lawyer to draw up a partnership agreement, negotiate and review our leases and negotiate with our landlord for a rent reduction to help us through a rough patch. Ms. Corwin accommodated our busy schedules so she could meet consistently with ...all of us. Not easy to get all of the partners (all aggressive litigation attorneys) to agree on anything. She had the ability to get us to realize goals in the order of importance and guide us toward achieving the important goals. Not easy for us to give up trying to control each other, or her. She taught us how to better evaluate business decisions and how to negotiate to come to agreement instead of negotiating to crush others.

A group of businesses including mine consulted Ms. Corwin about some very difficult business issues regarding a big competitor which was trying to put us out of business. Ms Corwin was able to represent our group being fair and responsive to all of us. She managed to negotiate a contract which all...owed all of us to peacefully coexist and continue in business. Her cleverness allowed her to make some suggestions to guide our group in purchasing inventory and supplies at a group discount which lowered our cost of doing business. She also made suggestions as how to share some big expenses pro rata among ourselves . With Ms. Corwin's legal and business help we were able to cut our costs and compete very effectively against this competitor. So we are ALL still in business and doing well. Interestingly, we all are becoming good friends in our group and brainstorming to improve all of our businesses.

Consult Ms. Corwin if you want a truly realistic evaluation of your legal issues. 3 lawyers I saw before her urged me to sue my former partners and almost guaranteed I would get a judgement in my favor. Ms. Corwin took the time to read my partnership agreement and saw that I was actually in breach ...and would lose any litigation. She stressed that she hasn't been a litigation attorney for 20 years.. She really does know her business law. She avoided huge expenses to me and negotiated a meeting between all of the partners, former and current. Her knowledge of business paid off-she is also a certified public accountant, We ended up dissolving the partnership as friends. And after all was settled the former partners and myself entered into another partnership and are doing really well personally and financially. So nice to meet a lawyer who has her clients' best interests at heart and who isn't just trying to get everything stirred up to make money for herself!
