I have had extensive experience in litigating cases in the Los Angeles Superior Courts from Lancaster, San Fernando, Van Nuys, and Central Courthouse. Due to my 33 years of my experience in Court, I find that I am able to settle most of my cases and usually don't need to litigate. I have had cases with most of the Family Law attorneys in the Los Angeles County area. I believe most attorneys in Los Angeles County respect my abilities and that usually means that cases can be settled in a fair and reasonable manner. Sometimes cases can not be settled, and litigation is the only choice. My long time experience as a Family Law litigator, the knowledge of the law and familiarity with the Judicial Officers allows me to present your case with the best chance of success.
My background in accounting is valuable in determining income of parties in determining support, the tax effect of support, business valuations and division of community property and debts. I studied Psychology in College as my minor emphasis, and knowledge in that area has helped me to deal with the stresses of the dissolution process and custody cases. I am regularly appointed as Minor's Counsel (an attorney appointed to represent the children in highly contentious custody cases) by the Judges and Commissioners in the Los Angeles Courts. The Courts make such appointments based upon the ability of an attorney to handle and deal with the complexities of Custody Litigation. I have represented high profile clients in custody litigation. I have had cases involving most of the Child Custody Evaluators in the Los Angeles County area. I have represented successful appeals in Family law cases including custody litigation.
My office staff includes two attorneys, two paralegals, case managers and clerks. They all have been trained in representing clients in Family Law matters and are experienced in handling aspects of the cases that they are assigned. I am computer literate and so is my staff. Communications with the opposing counsel are emailed to the client immediately and as a client you are kept in the loop on the progress of your case.

"I endorse this lawyer. Jim and I have litigated a number of cases against each other over the years. We both love the law and when we are not doing a case against each other we enjoy bouncing ideas off the other to better our respective law practices. I highly recommend Jim for aggressive and passionate representation."
