Confrontational Attorney

This particular attorney was directed to me by the original attorney that I hired and had retained. I was under the impression that the original attorney I had started with was going to also be the final or "Trial Attorney" as well. Well, that was not the case. After three (3) years I was handed o...ver to this attorney without warning, and was told to contact her and get the process going with her. I did that, and it took a while before she called me back, a couple of weeks to be exact. She was not that gentle over the phone, very cold, aggressive towards me - why I didn't know, and told me that it was her way or the highway. I just thought that she was having a bad day and forgot about it. As the case progressed forward I texted her on a Sunday, I thought that I would probably hear back from her during the beginning of the week. A few minutes had passed and I received a call back from her. She immediately started to yell at me that I was being desperate because I had contacted her during the weekend, although she said she worked weekends anyway but anyone that did contact her during the weekend was desperate, she also said she knew I was desperate because if I wasn't I would have waited to contact her on Monday. I told her that I had not heard from her for a few weeks and I had a question I wanted to ask her. Also, I told her that I didn't expect to hear back from her until the beginning of the week and why she was so mad at me because she decided to call me back after I had texted her. It was like she was blaming me for her calling me back on a Sunday. I started to ask my question to her and she flat out refused to answer me, she said that she was the lawyer and I was the client and that she had always been my lawyer even though I started out with a different one. She proceeded to tell me that I didn't have the 20 + years as an attorney to even understand why she makes or would make certain decisions on my behalf. She pretty much told me that she didn't have to answer any of my questions that I would have to live with it and follow whatever she decided. After she berated me and told me that I should not contact her again about anything and that she would contact me if she needed to she hung up the phone. I was shocked and stupefied that my attorney would talk to me that way. A couple months or so passed and I also heard from another attorney that worked with her, not part of her firm but was used by her when she was not available. This attorney was suppose to be a buffer between me and Mindy, I told him what had happened and he basically told me that was the way she was and that she would never change. He told me to stay in contact with him and he would run interference. Another subject came about and he did not have the answer so I went directly to Mindy. She said that she again didn't have to answer my question and if she said to jump I just needed to say "how hi?". I could not get nor did I ever get any questions when I asked her a question. The case may have been handled by her through paperwork but it was a different attorney who would actually precede over my case during the first Settlement Hearing. The second, Settlement Hearing was with the first attorney and a second brought on board by Mindy, now understand Mindy has never been at either one of these Settlement Hearings she was always wrapped up in another case. She was suppose to be the Lead attorney in my case but was never at any of the meetings we had with the county, not one. Finally, at the last Settlement Hearing again Mindy was not there and it was a different attorney - as mentioned above - that took my case to settle with the county. All my dealings with Mindy were confrontational, I had never met her in person and was very disappointing to know that a Lawyer would treat their client in this manner. Be weary about this attorney, I found out the hard way about her.
