Saved me from a headache!

Susan was referred to me by a friend who helped her with her case. Mine was very complicated and she managed to work with me step by step so I could be prepared for trial. Susan is very caring and was very flexible with me. Thank you Susan

Steer Clear

Do you want a divorce attorney who does the bare minimum and actually represents the interests of the person you are divorcing above your own? Then hire this woman. The level of apathy and sheer incompetence that she handled our divorce with is indefensible. First of all, it is of the utmost import...ance to say that the husband in our case, did not even have to hire a lawyer. She did such an atrocious job for us, who were paying her, that she practically served as his attorney more than she did ours. The divorce was conducted for my mother, and when I saw the original terms of the divorce, I contacted her to ask that she at least try to negotiate better terms, as least to motivate him to have to hire a lawyer and initiate a back and forth. Her assistant told us that “negotiating was not her strong suit.” Let me repeat that: That a licensed litigator's skill set did not include NEGOTIATION. Long story short, she didn't even try to negotiate a better outcome for my mother- not even a conversation. Basically printed out divorce papers and filled them out for thousands of dollars in fees- something a novice volunteering at a legal clinic could have done. The husband saved a ton on lawyer's fees. In effect, we paid for her to be his lawyer. We absorbed all the lawyer fees and she even ceded some of my mother's personal property without explaining to her what she was signing away. There is an overabundance of attorneys and what you get when that happens is a serious drop off in quality of service. Susan Wolf may sound like a great name, but Susan the kitty Cat or Susan the Translucent would be far more appropriate.

Does not live up to her reputation

In my experience with Susan she is very knowledgable and helpful when it comes to criminal defense. With our immigration help however, her services have been disappointing. I feel like I'm being given the run around and her and her staff are ignoring me and not keeping me informed. We submitted an i...mmigration application. Come to find out almost a month later that the application was never even processed because the money order that was sent was for the wrong amount. I'm not sure if you've ever tried to return and get a refund for a money order you purchased and already wrote out, but it is a long and difficult process. Now that I am double checking her work (which defeats the purpose of paying a lawyer to file our application) I noticed the money order was also written out the wrong way. Susan said to make it out to "USCIS" just like that, in abbreviations and it turns out it has to be written out to " The Department of Homeland Security" - no acronyms. This may seem like minor errors but to me this is why lawyers get paid the big buck$. I could have made those mistakes on my own and saved a lot, but I trusted her expertise. Like I said, she is a great criminal defense lawyer, my experience with her in immigration matters- not so great. That's my two cents. (*Disclaimer: I am not trying to offend anyone with my review. This has been my honest and personal experience.)
