I have spent my entire professional career leveling the playing field for people with disabilities while working to help to remove the shame, stigma and fear often experienced by my client

My legal practice covers all of California. I represent children and young adults from age 3 through high-school who are eligible for special education.

For most of my clients, I personally attend their IEPs and oversee their educational plan. Compliance is a key factor in a successful IEP. My team of experts and I not only assure that the IEP is appropriate, but is carried out with fidelity. I firmly believe that parents have a civil right to be involved in their child’s education plan and work to ensure that those rights are maintained throughout a child’s education.

My firm has been successful in negotiating and receiving services and compensation and have seen lives change for the better.

Early in my career as an Attorney, I recognized significant flaws in the education system at the very highest level. To provide a solution to these problems, I developed an educational software program and personally traveled from State to State to ensure that students with learning difficulties have the same opportunity to succeed as those without such challenges. As a result, almost every State in the US has integrated this program into the discrete areas of education that were affected by these issues. I’ve been fortunate that I have had the opportunity to affect the lives of millions of people for the better.

I obtained my J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. My M.S. is from New York University and my B.A. from Hofstra University, New College. I spent one-year studying philosophy and religion at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I also studied Traditional Chinese Medicine at Yosan University for three years.

Adam is the best advocate for your child!
We highly recommend retaining Adam early in the IEP process-I wish we would have done so sooner. He has made so much progress in such little time and we look forward to all the changes that will take place this coming school year. He gives you a voice after the school district tries to silence you.

Very effective
Adam successfully negotiated with our public high school/district to allow our child to be able to take a core class at a private school after they had firmly denied our request. He was easy to deal with and repeatedly got results for us we could not get on our own.

Awesome Adam
I am writing to formally recognize and acknowledge Adams commitment to my daughters needs and education. Adams' dedication to her and our family has improved each of our lives. Had it not been for Adam we would still be in despair and fighting the school districts endlessly with minimal results. A daunting and exhausting task for even the strongest of families and breaking them to defeat and tears. Believe me when I tell you to, trust Adam. Adam, truly carries and holds your family dear while getting awesome results for your child. I could write a page about AWESOME ADAM easily however I know people tend to skim read so I wanted to emphasize some key truths about Awesome Adam. He listens. He cares. He gets results. Adam will work with you and your family to achieve FAPE and the ability to breathe again. Awesome Adam, Kieley and I want to Thank you for giving her a future, a chance in life, listening and never giving up. You are truly Awesome Adam. Time to celebrate. We are looking forward to the next 3 years with you, your team and seeing you at Kieley's Graduation! Sincerely, Kelly and Kieley

Adam is the whole package
Two years ago I walked in blindly and alone to an IEP meeting with zero knowledge and I came off that way. I was presented with a whole lot of district jargon that just confused me entirely. I walked out of there feeling helpless and incompetent on how I was going to get my son the help he so desperately needed. Knowing that I needed help I started researching. Advocates, lawyers, consultants but none of them offered what we found in Adam. Adam has a plethora of knowledge within the education system. He has years of experience. He downright gets it! Adam held our hand every step of the way. In the two years that we worked with Adam every single text, email and phone call was returned and answered promptly, he also attended every single IEP meeting and saw them through fruition. He fought very diligently and professionally for our son. He also assisted us with getting reimbursed for private aid fees we had to incur as well as extra tutoring which is doing wonders for our son. Adam is the whole package.

Best Education Lawyer Out There
We retained Mr. Wasserman to represent our 10th grader who was quickly falling between the cracks and beginning to fail in her classes. There was no support and her self esteem was crumbling. In our meeting with the school and District present, Mr. Wasserman completely transformed the schools dynamic towards us from one of invisibility and helplessness with no school support to one of responsiveness and accessibility. We know that we have rights and the Districts obligation is to honor them. In the past they made us feel like they were doing us a favor and giving us bread crumbs when they felt like it. Mr. Wasserman skillfully held them to account and we are now getting the services and assistance our child deserves. We are very lucky to have Mr. Wasserman’s counsel, clarity, and advocacy as he continues to represent our child’s best interest. In short he gave us our power back.

Thank you!
My daughter was struggling in school and the District was dragging out the IEP process. He was very effective in dealing with the District and got her the services she needed. She is now back on track and will be graduating with her class this year. Without Adam’s help this would not have been possible. I highly recommend him.

Incredible human!
Adam is a compassionate and caring person. My son's IEP was inadequate and he was not receiving the proper services. Adam took the time to talk to my son one-on-one to hear his perspective so he could support our family completely during the entire process. My son said, "He was very attentive and down to earth." Adam is incredibly knowledgeable with the IEP process and with learning disabilities and continues to guide us. Adam is the guardian angel for anyone who needs help advocating for their child's rights.

Excellent attorney and advisor for parents with special needs children
We have been working with Adam for the past year for our high school son. Adam has been a great partner for us in ensuring that our son got the right support and services from the school district. He has been very responsive and listens to our concerns patiently, understands our concerns and is a very good advisor. He actively participates in the meetings and discussions, and has worked with the school district in getting everything in place so that our son's education program progresses smoothly. Thank you, Adam.

Compassionate Advocate Adam Wasserman
Adam Wasserman fought successfully to ensure my daughter received access to her free appropriate public education (FAPE). Beyond his years of experience and education law expertise, Adam is a compassionate and caring person who took the time to understand our case on a personal level and made sure every step in the process was taken thoughtfully and in consideration of all potential outcomes. It is my pleasure to recommend Adam and I would be happy to serve as a reference for anyone considering working with him.

So thankful for Adam
Adam has been such a lifesaver in making sure my son gets the support that he needs. Last year was our first year in public school and with the pandemic happening as well he was so amazing at making sure everything was taken care of for my son and that his educational experience was the best even through all the crazy times. I really loved that he wanted to hear from my son about how he was feeling and what he think he needed. It is so important for kids to be able to help advocate for themselves. Thank you Adam!

Changed Our Son's Life
Adam and his staff are exceptional. They turned our son's life around. Our specific situation involved a defiant staff that was bullying our family. Adam turned all of that around and our FASD son, who had only ever had Ds and Fs became a B and C student and is on track to graduate this year with his class. Thanks, Adam!

Thoroughly researched my daughter's case
Adam blew away the school district with his research that thoroughly defended my daughter's need for a 504 Plan to level the playing field in high school studies and test taking for her impaired eyesight. We had been trying to get accommodations for her for over 2 years. Adam got them in a few short months. Fabulous attorney.

Deborah G.-D., Parent of Twin Daughters with Special Needs
Mr. Wasserman was a lifesaver for my daughters and my family. We had been trying for 4 years to get a fair and quality assessment and an IEP for our daughters with our local school district, and were repeatedly denied this. Finally, with Mr. Wasserman's help, we were able to settle a case with the district amicably, ensure a fair and appropriate IEP for our twins, and keep their IEPs and services equitable. Mr. Wasserman is friendly, straight forward, honest, generous, and kind. He is a great advocate for families of children with special needs and legal advisor. We are very grateful for his help and kindness, and his professionalism.

Goes to bat for students
Adam cut the overly summative talk about our daughter and was able to pinpoint where the breakdowns were and what she needed from the adults in the room. While not in the least rude, he called administration out on negligent behaviors and strongly and successfully advocated for her services. He was an excellent listener to us as parents and the prior experiences we had had. Adam is the perfect combination of heart and knowledge.

Our little one was falling too far behind and couldn't catch up.
It’s a difficult realization that your child isn’t receiving the help at school that they need and deserve. It's equally difficult trying to navigate and understand the often complex language used to gauge their progress, it can be daunting. We were lucky to involve Adam Wasserman in this process. He easily communicated with the school district and had a commanding understanding of all the documents and test results presented to him. He was able to identify and communicate with us and the district in such a way that quickly led to a settlement. Most importantly our child is getting the help that they have deserved all along. Adam and his staff were helpful, knowledgeable and incredibly efficient. His experience wasn’t lost on anyone we spoke with. We are very grateful for his help.

forever grateful
One year ago, our daughter was in a dark place, she was the bad seed, covid19 started, our business was closed, no one was ready to listen or help and because of a friend, I talked to Adam Wasserman. One year later exactly, our daughter has been elected student of the month, she is blooming, happy and improving, we will be forever grateful to Adam Wasserman. You feel safe with him, he knows how to communicate, how to get what your kid needs, he has knowledge and compassion and he goes beyond your level of expectations. Thank you Adam, you made a difference. Isabelle

Forever grateful to the most amazing special ed lawyer !!!
We navigated many IEP meetings over the years with our 13 yrs old high functioning autistic son. The smartest decision of our life was to have Mr. Wasserman representing us at a crucial milestone transitioning to high school. His dedication, compassion and support given to us was a huge relief. His expertise benefited our son in finally getting all the help he needed and receiving services we were never been aware exist. We are forever grateful.
