Tro Semerjian

Tro Semerjian is an attorney in the litigation department at KJT Law Group, LLP, where he focuses his practice on landlord-tenant habitability litigation and personal injury matters. He represents tenants and families harmed by unsafe living conditions, including toxic exposure, uninhabitable residential environments and negligent property maintenance.

Semerjian concentrates on cases involving injuries that are often misunderstood or minimized by landlords and insurance carriers. Many habitability claims involve emotional distress, chronic health effects and long-term disruption that may not be immediately visible, but can significantly affect a client’s quality of life. His work focuses on helping clients clearly document and communicate the real impact of those conditions.

Clients value Semerjian’s honesty and consistent communication throughout the litigation process. From the first conversation, he emphasizes transparency and collaboration, making sure clients understand both the realities of litigation and the importance of active participation in their case. He believes strong representation also means helping clients feel informed and supported through every stage of the process.

His approach also combines legal strategy with patience. In one case, clients wanted to accept a low early settlement offer simply to move forward with their lives. After advising them to allow additional time for discovery and subpoena work, Semerjian was able to significantly strengthen the case and secure an offer approximately six times greater than the original amount.

Before joining KJT Law Group, Semerjian worked at the Veterans Legal Clinic during law school, representing veterans and earning honors recognition for his work each semester. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Northridge and his Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.

Semerjian chose this area of law because he believes every person deserves safe and habitable housing regardless of income, neighborhood or social status. In his view, a home should be a place of safety, stability and dignity for the people who live there.
