most unethical and unprofessional attorney I worked with

Almas is the most unethical, unprofessional, incompetent, manipulative, condescending and disrespectful attorney I have ever worked with. I worked with Almas for only three months. In that short time, he charged me over $30,000 and pushed me into signing a unusually one sided contract with a forensic ...accountant he recommended. In the agreement, he let me sign all my rights aways, the agreement gave Almas unilateral authority to approve work and expenses on my behalf without my consultation or consent, Allowed the accouting firm to bill indefinitely beyond retainer without any obligation to notify me, the agreement also Lacked any defined scope of work, enablingthe accounting to proceed with tasks without first obtaining my approval or input. Which in the end cost me over $20,000 At first, Almas acted nice and responsive, but his true colors showed quickly. He misrepresented his expertise with divorces involving tech startup founders. He did not understand how startups raise money or what a 409A valuation is—both critical in my case. When I voiced concerns about the accountant’s competence and charges, he wouldn’t even let me finish speaking. He immediately defended the accountant, shut me down, and refused my repeated requests to have them stop working on my case—while allowing the bills to keep growing. It felt like he was protecting the accountant’s interests over mine. His attitude towards me has turned 180 ever since I voiced my concern about the accountant. In the end, his attitude was awful. When I told him I’d appreciate it if he stopped working on my case at the last minute, he told me that if I didn’t like his work, he “encouraged” me to find a new attorney. He tried to make me believe that getting attorney’s fees and a motion to continue the trial were huge victories because of him—and that I should be grateful—when in reality, those were simple motions for my case that I could have handled myself. One of the most troubling incidents was when the court ordered the opposing party to pay attorney’s fees directly to me. Without my permission, Almas altered the order so that payment would be made to his office instead. He never consulted me about this change. After he substituted out of my case, I requested my full case file. What I got was a mess—unorganized, full of drafts and duplicates. When I asked for a complete, organized file, he refused. He also didn’t even follow basic legal procedure: the motion to compel he filed for me was denied because he failed to properly meet and confer. Which cost me over $10,000. His filings contained sloppy mistakes, including referencing another client’s name in my court documents. This experience left me financially and emotionally drained. I felt betrayed by someone I trusted to protect my interests. Now I have to invest more time and energy to sue him and file a complaint with the bar association. Obviously, based on the experience, I would never recommended anyone to work with him

So glad i found him

Being with my 3rd lawyer, I was represented by Gregory Almas at ALMAS LAW during my divorce proceedings. From the beginning, Gregory was not just my lawyer but also my supporter and advisor during a challenging time. His honesty and sincerity stood out immediately, and I truly felt cared for and that... he was fully invested in my case. Gregory's advice and guidance were spot on, helping me easily navigate the legal complexities. He always aimed to resolve issues efficiently rather than unnecessarily prolonging the process, which not only expedited my case but also kept costs reasonable. His approach to billing was very transparent and fair, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, Gregory's professionalism and empathetic nature significantly reduced the emotional burden of my divorce. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in need of a reliable and capable attorney who genuinely prioritizes his client's well-being.
