Without Kim, I wouldn’t be able to keep up with my progress

I realize my limitations in not speaking English and from a different culture can cause me disadvantaged situations during interviews. People don't understand my situation and I also don't understand the questions sometimes. The interpreter mess up, but luckily I have Kim and she quickly resolves eve...rything. I want to thank her for helping me and always show up when I need her the most, even on the phone during interviews. It's been years since I finally become a citizen. It is a mentally consumed progress, but I'm now passed it thanks to her help.

Refugee Asylum Granted January 2019

Beginning of July 2018, my cousin crossed the Tijuana-San Diego border seeking for asylum in the USA. While my cousin was detained by USCIS at Adelanto, California, I did not know any lawyer who would be good enough to help me get my cousin out of detention and file for asylum to stay in the USA. I... came across Kim via Avvo. After reading Kim's profile, I picked up the phone and called her and left her a message. A few minutes later, she returned my call. I described my cousin's situation. The next day, Kim drove for 3 hours from Pasadena to Adelanto to talk to my cousin. After talking to my cousin about his ordeal, Kim filed the motion for bond hearing, Master Calendar's Hearing, and Immigration Hearing. From the beginning, I realized the case was not easy. Even though it was tough, each step of the process Kim assured me that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Kim kept me updated at the end of each court date, and I was very well-informed. Exactly 6 months from the date my cousin was detained by USCIS at the Tijuana-San Diego Border crossing, the Judge granted my cousin asylum to stay in the USA - for my cousin, it's his 2nd happiest day of his life (the first was when he was born). Now, my cousin has earned his freedom to start a new life in the USA. Our family thanks Kim from the bottom of our hearts. Kim is professional, articulated and caring.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
