Julie Oktanyan is the founder and lead trial attorney at Julie O Law, APC.
With over 20 years’ experience as a litigator in Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury matters, Julie started her independent firm in January 2022 to help traumatically injured workers.
At ODG Law Group, Julie served as Managing Partner since May 2011, specializing in Workers’ Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident & Slip and Fall Accident claims. With Julie’s contribution and zealous representation at the firm, ODG Law Group secured over $30 million in settlements for its clients under 10 years.
Prior to her experience at Oktanyan Der-Grigorian Law Group, Julie practiced as a civil defense attorney for two prestigious law firms in Downtown, Los Angeles and Woodland Hills. Her prior legal experience at these firms encompassed defending insurance companies in serious and high exposure matters ranging from product liability, premises liability, construction defect, and automobile and truck accidents.

MAKING AN IMPACT EVEN IN THE EARLY YEARS
Prior to defense work and private practice, Julie served as a summer clerk for the Law Offices of Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. in their civil rights department working side by side with extraordinary attorneys in the representation of severely injured clients in police brutality matters. Prior to that, she completed an internship at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office assisting attorneys in public entity premises liability cases.
Julie earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, in Los Angeles, in May of 2002, claiming “Exceptional Achievement Awards” in Torts Law, Products Liability, and Intellectual Property. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA in June of 1998. She is fluent in Armenian.
