Casey J Marticorena

Serving the greater Los Angeles area for almost a decade, Ms. Marticorena handles a broad range of family law matters including division of property, division of business interests, child custody, visitation, child support, child custody evaluations, spousal support, dissolution of marriage, legal separation, domestic violence and civil harassment restraining orders.

As a Certified Family Law Specialist a designation governed by the State Bar of California, Ms. Marticorena has demonstrated a high level of experience in family law, including a minimum amount of trials, hearings, settlements, stipulations, and mediations. Certified specialists must complete numerous hours of continuing legal education above and beyond what is required of a non-specialist. Additionally, specialists have taken and passed a written examination akin to a one-day bar examination and must receive positive third party evaluations from attorneys and judges before final certification is earned.

Ms. Marticorena’s strengths are in identifying complex family law issues that may affect distribution of property, payment of support, and community property interests. Ms. Marticorena’s experience includes:

Ms. Marticorena attended Southwestern University School of Law where she received a CALI Award for excellence in family law. While at Southwestern, she was an extern for the Target Crimes Division of the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office and a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Judge Amy M. Pellman of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Family Law Division.

Prior to Southwestern University, Ms. Marticorena attended the University of California, Irvine and graduated Cum Laude, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Psychology in 2003. Ms. Marticorena also graduated UC Irvine as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a prestigious national honors society.

Ms. Marticorena attends monthly MCLE events hosted by the Pasadena Bar Association, the yearly Spring Seminar in Rancho Mirage, CA hosted by the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists; the Trial Institute for the Southern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Recently, she completed the Advanced Family Law Course presented by the California Family Law Report (“CFLR”).

Ms. Marticorena actively participates in alternative dispute resolution by initiating and hosting Voluntary Settlement Conferences in her office and by retaining private mediators and retired judicial officers to resolve family law matters without the time and expense of litigation. In 2014, she was invited to join the mediation panel of the Los Angeles Superior Court wherein she will be volunteering as a daily settlement officer.

Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Marticorena is a member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists, and is a Trustee on the Executive Board of the Pasadena Bar Association.
