Matthew Powell Fletcher

My family was referred to Matthew Fletcher when my sister was having legal problems that put her behind bars. We were worried up to the point to where my parents and I started feeling sick…but after a few court hearings my sister's legal problems were dismissed and the little bit of time my sister sp...ent incarcerated did not affect how our lives continued to move forward once Mr. Fletcher stepped into the courtroom. We were so positive about the court hearings after that and it's because of Mr. Fletcher! Talk about a sign of relief…my family and I were unable to get help from other resources, we did not know who to turn to, plus no one would advise us on how to handle our situation or where we could find help until my father was introduced to Mr. Fletcher from a co-worker. Recently my mother was accused of false charges for a crime she did not commit. My grandmother and i almost lost all hope, we went through six different incompetent lawyers who claimed they couldn't help us. My mother would have spent life in prison if it hadn't been for Matthew Fletcher. When i wet ...to go meet with him for the first time he was very professional. He was very willingly to take the case so many lawyers rejected, which brought hope to me and my family. Not only did he keep me and my family informed, but within four months my mother was back home and all charges were dropped. I highly recommend Matthew Fletcher.

This attorney did not follow any of my requests. He failed to file paperwork in a timely manner. He failed to read paperwork prior to court hearings and openly admitted to not having read the prosecutor's pleadings in court. He also spoke to many people concerning my case that he was not authorize...d to speak to.

I hired Mr. Fletcher in 1/09 to represent me in a parole matter. He and his crooked secretary Lisa(do not give these people any money!) asked for a 2000.00 retainer that I promptly sent them. They took my money did nothing for me but let me rot in jail and when I asked for my retainer back two months... later, they present me with an outrageous bill to cover 1600.00 of the retainer. All the while never speaking with my parole officer or attempting to resolve any parole problem. They are the worst crooks I have ever dealt with and these people are professionals? Save yourself alot of headache and find an attorney that has at least some ethics. These people have none and are sorrowly lacking in the integrity department as well. You can call Mr. Fletcher 500 times as I have and have yet to speak with him regarding his outrageous bill.. I have just forwarded all my paperwork to the California Bar Associtaion regarding Mr. Fletcher so that maybe another family does not have through what this family has gone through.

I retained this attorney several years ago for a personal matter. I agree with the other reviewer. I find it hard to believe that he is even allowed to represent people in court. I had a court date scheduled and wasn't even aware of it; Matthew was to show up in court; however he never did; theref...ore neither of us were present to argue my case. Because we were not in court (again, I was not advised of my court date), everything ruled in favor of the other person. Because of this he ruined my life, literally. I tried suing him, but that was a waste of time because at the time he did not have attorney liability insurance. In addition to this, I was talking to a friend about a month ago and she was discussing a family matter that they were dealing with and mentioned that they retained an attorney who did nothing for them, in matter of fact made their case worse for them, coincidentally it was Matthew Fletcher. PLEASE do not go to this attorney, he will only take your money. He has no morals, is unprofessional and many other words that I would like to use to describe him here, but will not stoop to his level. He should not be practicing law and should be disbarred!!!!
