Joel assisted me with my divorce and my violent ex trying to get his rights back. When Joel decided to take on my case it was based of an extensive consultation. This man is not looking to represent anybody just for the compensation. He is selective and genuinely invested once he decides to represent... you. He made this painstaking process easier and I felt supported legally and as a mother protecting her children. Time went by (about a year) and he checked in on me and my kids. Passing the bar is one thing but having a heart and a passion for what you do is another.

He filled a wrong statement actually making me a lier in court he had me sign it and I trusted him so I didn’t read it, next thing I know he just told the judge we were dismissing my case and letting the othe...r party win everything.

I met with Mr Garcia and explained my case and that I needed him to subpoena bank records for an account that was mines. He agreed and I hired him. After four weeks I had to fire him. Three days after I paid him $1000. to subpoena the records for what we agreed on he completely ignored and started ...lecturing me on how it won't do any good to subpoena record to find out where my money went. He stated he was going to call the bank instead. I said ok and I never heard from him again. When I called him two days later there was no answer but I left a message. The following day I get an email stating he has court all week and would get back to me the following week Monday. I received no call but I called and left another message. I then received another email telling me he was on vacation and started lecturing on the message on how he has a right to take a vacation and not have to worry about clients cases. I have no idea what brought that on since I only left a message saying to call me back. The following week I called him from a different number and he answered. I asked what happened to taking to the bank or have you subpoena the records, again he started lecturing about how everything takes time and no need to rush that my problem was I expected him to subpoena records on he felt pressured into agreeing with me when he took my case and $1000. I was shocked that he being a lawyer would feel pressured in taking my case. I really think he has issues and needs help. He demonstrated mood swings in his messages and when I spoke to him on the phone. When I told him this won't work out he said he will subpoena the records he just has not had time. I told him that was fine if he can send me a check for the money I gave him. He agreed he would . Three weeks later I received a check for only $400 and an invoice of all the work he did. His invoice was charging me $600 for call he had with the bank on the same time he was on vacation there were other calls he made while he stated to me he was in court. I didn't bother calling him about the money due to his mood swings so I filed a complaint with the State Board who is reviewing my complaint. Be very careful if you hire this attorney his mood swings can be dangerous. I wish he would see a doctor.
