Sylvia Vargas Gonzalez

I grew up in the city of Whittier, California and graduated from La Habra High School. I attended the University of California Santa Barbara and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Chicano Studies. I moved to Comayagua, Honduras after college to work full-time as a teacher for a kindergarten class in the Escuela Bilingue Honduras. I taught six year old and seven year old children to read and write in the English language while maintaining their fluency in Spanish. During my time in Honduras, I traveled the beautiful Central American countries of Guatemala and Nicaragua as well as attended Spanish schools in those countries. I also traveled to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to attend a Spanish course at the University of Guadalajara.

I graduated from Western State University, School of Law in the city of Fullerton. I worked as the lead litigation attorney at a personal injury law firm for three years before opening my own practice. While running my law office, I practiced many areas of law, including personal injury, eviction cases, bankruptcy, immigration, family law, and criminal law.

Currently I limit my law practice to Personal Injury and Criminal Defense.  The personal injury cases I work on are vehicle collisions, animal attacks, and premises liability such as slip-and-falls and clients that were injured as a result of a third party criminal or intentional act.  Clients I have represented were charged with crimes such as DUI (drunk driving), Embezzlement, Grand Theft, Petty Theft, and Drug Possession. 

I have first chaired five jury trials and settled over 400 cases.  I have participated in mediation, mandatory settlement conferences, and depositions.  I am a solo practitioner working on cases in Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, Ventura County and Stanislaus County.  I am fluent in Spanish.
