Really poor attorney

I agree with another reviewer. Does NOT return calls, showed up late to my hearing, and didn't call the week prior (to my hearing like he said he would in his letter) so that I would be 'fully prepared'. He is a bunch of BS and arrogant.

Unfortunately I looked at my calendar and have not had a hearing with a client named Katherine for several months prior to this posting so I do not know who this is and cannot properly respond. My clients are always well prepared for a hearing and I tell them to meet me in person an hour prior to the hearing to go over it again (I am not late to hearings). While I think you may have commented on the wrong attorney, without more information about who you are I am unable to adequately respond and do not believe this is the forum for a discussion of your case regardless.

Don't be a sucker!

The attorney's assistant has a great come on when she's taking your first call--very empathetic, very nice. I hired him because I really thought she spoke for the office and understood what I needed. Well...fool me once shame on you...So, SHAME ON YOU JAMES DOLENGA! I had two other attorneys who w...anted to take my case. I wish I would have chosen one of them. This office doesn't return calls for two or three days, which can seem like a lifetime when you're anxious and need to talk to someone who knows how the game is played. They didn't "walk me through" filing out the papers like they said they would. I had to fill them out myself, fax to him, waited for days and then had to keep calling to get anywhere. They made me so angry and upset because I felt I was doing everything myself and they just got to collect their money. That's what really peeved me...he got to collect money from my benefits and I'm the one who did all the work. If you have mental illness, anxiety and PTSD like I do, do yourself a favor and find someone else. You will only be frustrated and disappointed. I don't know what happened to him or his office in the last year, but it has really gone down hill if people were saying great things about him in other reviews. Stay away and don't be a sucker!

I am sorry you feel so strongly Kelly. Given that you were already denied by a judge and by the appeals council with a prior attorney, I would have expected you to be more familiar with the process and to have had some patience with the process. I am not sure where you think I "got to collect their money." As you are aware, I do not get paid unless we are successful with your case which is still pending. Given your level of dissatisfaction I will gladly step aside and let you reach out to the other attorneys who were so anxious to assist you and hopefully one of them can have a better result than either the attorney that was with you when you lost last time or myself.

Poor Attorney

Horrible attorney , hard to reach, never returns calls , from I can tell he is a one man show. And has no real knowledge on the laws or obtaining documents . Puts everything on the back burner and waits to the last minute to advise clients of up coming court dates ...

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
