No, many members of new House of Representatives consider section 245(i) a form of "amnesty" and would vote as a bloc against it.

If it was only your visa which expired, you can always get a new one. However, if your student status expired, you've get a problem.

You should try to find a job in the same or a similar occupation. That way, you can take advantage of 180-day portability and get your green card...
