**Five Years of Representation, Broken Trust, and a Painful Lesson**

For nearly five years, I have been a client of attorney Robert Thomas Bryson of Robins Cloud LLP, following the devastating loss of my home in a California wildfire. Initially, I believed I had found an attorney who understood the suffering, uncertainty, and emotional devastation survivors endure. Co...mmunication was consistent, compassion appeared genuine, and I trusted that my future was in capable hands. Unfortunately, what followed left me questioning that trust. Everything seemed to change once the firm received its first payment. Communication became virtually nonexistent. Updates were rarely volunteered, questions went unanswered, and I repeatedly had to initiate contact simply to learn what was happening with my own case. After losing everything to a wildfire, I never imagined feeling abandoned by the very people entrusted with protecting my interests. When I requested an itemized accounting of the work performed and clarification regarding the 33.3% attorney fees deducted from my recovery, I felt dismissed rather than informed. I was told the firm’s arrangement did not require providing the detailed information I requested. Discussions involving potentially substantial hourly charges left me feeling intimidated for asking reasonable questions about my own representation. I wasn’t asking for charity. I was asking for transparency, accountability, and basic professional courtesy. During an especially difficult period, I contacted Mr. Bryson to explain that I was facing a serious medical emergency and genuinely feared I might not survive the year. I had hoped for compassion, understanding, or reassurance. Instead, his response left me feeling that my circumstances mattered far less than the financial outcome of my case. Perhaps the most heartbreaking aspect is that wildfire survivors have already endured unimaginable loss. We have watched our homes disappear, our memories turn to ashes, and our financial security crumble. Many have spent years rebuilding lives that will never resemble what existed before the flames. We should not have to fight for communication from our own attorneys, too. Most recently, following the Fire Victim Trust’s announcement of a final pro rata distribution expected around October 14, 2026, I contacted the firm seeking information about my remaining payment. Having received no meaningful case updates for approximately two years, I also requested assistance contacting Archer regarding updating my banking information for direct deposit. I sent two emails approximately two weeks apart. Both responses appeared substantially identical and neither meaningfully addressed my questions. After nearly five years of representation, this was profoundly disappointing. I understand attorneys manage demanding caseloads and that circumstances beyond their control can delay payments. However, those realities do not excuse what I experienced as inadequate communication, insufficient transparency, and a troubling absence of compassion. This review is not motivated by hatred or retaliation. It is my personal experience and a sincere warning to others seeking representation during the most vulnerable chapters of their lives. To anyone considering Robert Thomas Bryson or Robins Cloud LLP, please ask detailed questions before signing. Understand the fees, request transparency regarding accounting, and establish clear expectations for communication. An attorney’s true character is not revealed by promises made before a settlement, but by the integrity, compassion, and accountability demonstrated after the money changes hands. I entrusted this firm with more than a legal claim. I entrusted them with a piece of my future when I had already lost nearly everything. The wildfire took my home. This experience took something else: my faith that those entrusted to advocate for survivors would treat them with the dignity they deserve.

Unfortunately, when this individual contacted me, I was on the phone with an existing client. I do not interrupt client calls and so I declined the call hoping that whomever had called would leave a voicemail so I could call them back when I concluded my existing/ongoing call. Unfortunately, the same caller, called interrupting my call with client and so I "answered" to avoid receiving yet another call. During this brief call, I mistook this caller as a sale pitch marketing new clients which caused me to disconnect the call. It subsequently dawned on me that I may have been hasty in my assessment of the nature of the call so I called the number back. When I did, the individual who called was understandably upset and indicated that they had no interest in speaking to me and instead would leave a bad review and then hung up. I apologize for my mishandling the call and I remain available if this individual still needs help and I can refer them to another partner in our law firm or another law firm altogether.

Robert T. Bryson

I recently consulted Mr. Bryson on an issue I've been dealing with for the past year and a half. During our initial phone conversation Bryson was able to break it down in a way that was understandable to me and showed his knowledge of the law. He followed that up with a meeting and displayed the ty...pe of legal know how that would make any plaintiff want to go into battle with him. If/when I have to go into court with my current issue I plan to have to have him right there with me.

"I endorse this lawyer. We worked together on a large property loss case that morphed into an even larger insurance bad faith case in Federal Court. Mr. Bryson knows his stuff when it comes to insurance law and bad faith practices. His firm had the lead in the case, along with the most plaintiffs, so I was able to literally sit back and watch them win rulings and keep the defense on their heals throughout the entire four years of litigation. It culminated with a maximum recovery in the eight figures."
