Thomas E Quarterman

In October 2014, I was looking for counsel for a DWI. My cousin suggested that Thomas Quartman be my attorney. She was using him as her attorney for the same charge. She introduced us and he agreed to be my attorney for $1200. On my arraignment, we met in his car outside the courthouse and I gave him... $600 cash. We briefly spoke on what I was charged with. On my second court appearance, I waited in court for an hour. He would not have showed up had my aunt not called him from the courtroom . He showed up late, about 2 hours later. I felt as if Thomas Quarterman behaved lackluster and did not have me in his best interest. He did ABSOLUTELY nothing to help with my case. He never remembered my name and or what my charges were. After the third appearance, I released Thomas Quarterman as my attorney, and got a public defender. I feel as if Mr. Quartman is portraying himself as a attorney only for financial gain. Something needs to be done to reprimand this man for not performing to the level of an attorney that people expect. He is not trustworthy and actions need to be taken!!!! I sincerely believe that I would have been convicted of this crime had Thomas Quarterman remained my lawyer!!! By the way, my case was dismissed.

This attorney is retired, and will not tell you that he is retired. He claimed to have a defense for my case, and I found out 10 minutes before going to trial that he was completely unprepared. He was dishonest about the resources he had available, and over a 3 month period did not start his true due... diligence in my defense until 6 days before my trial. His lack of preparation put me in an unfortunate predicament, and I have had to pay more than twice his fees to undo the damage he caused. Save yourself the time and trouble, and keep looking! I wish I could give zero starts, but it would not allow me to post. He deserves no stars. He did not deliver nor perform! Do not waste your money.
