Biography
Caleb Marker has achieved a significant amount of success for his clients, including several settlements and verdicts that have been recognized as a “Top Settlement & Verdict” by the Los Angeles Daily Journal and Michigan Lawyers Weekly. Mr. Marker has extensive experience in litigating consumer protection claims brought under California’s Unfair Competition Law (section 17200) and Consumers Legal Remedies Act (section 1750). His cases have involved a wide range of clients, including retail consumers, misclassified employees, student loan borrowers, nursing home patients, mortgage borrowers, and data privacy victims. In total, Mr. Marker has been actively involved as class counsel in cases that have resulted in more than $40 million in settlements since joining the Firm in 2010.
Mr. Marker earned his B.A. in International Relations from Michigan State University, where he was elected vice president of the university’s student government, vice president of the student newspaper, and was active in other political and social organizations. He also earned his law degree (tax concentration) from Michigan State University. After graduating law school, Mr. Marker practiced law in Michigan for three years before moving to California.
Mr. Marker is a member of the State Bar of California, the District of Columbia Bar Association (inactive), and the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Central District of California, Northern District of California, Northern District of Illinois, Western District of Michigan, and Eastern District of Michigan, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where he serves on the Access to Justice Committee the goal of which is to maximize the delivery of legal services to the poor and encourage attorneys to provide free legal services to those in need of such services.
Away from the office, Mr. Marker spends his free time travelling, having been to six continents and every U.S. state, and sailing out of the Del Rey Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey, California.
